Reporting to the Technical Training Manager the Technical Instructor is responsible for teaching classes, developing educational content, and managing classroom equipment. Ideal candidates excel in communication, possess a passion for technology, and demonstrate strong technical proficiency in areas such as custom integration, home automation, audio/video, security, surveillance, networking, or information technology.

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Present instructor-led training that displays best-in-class design, presentation, and engagement skills 
  • Develop new and revise existing training content for training materials such as microlearning videos, online courses, in-person classes, and educational aides  
  • Own every part of online course development including script writing, audio recording/editing, video recording/editing, and assessment creation 
  • Continually work to increase knowledge of both industry technology and best practices in education  
  • Gain hands-on experience with Snap One solutions by performing maintenance and upgrades to education centers and experience centers. Will require the use of hand tools, power tools and ladders  
  • Gain product familiarity and drive improvement through beta testing of Snap One products 
  • Attend weekly meetings and/or site visits with various teams to increase technical knowledge and skills  
  • Up to 25% travel depending on demand  

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's in Instructional Design/Education or equivalent
  • 3+ years in technical training/content development
  • Project management skills with deadline adherence
  • Proficient in visual aid creation and design
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Technical aptitude or experience in tech
  • Excellent writing skills

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field  
  • 5+ years’ hands on experience in tech related field 
  • Curriculum development work experience, using a well-defined instructional design system (e.g. ADDIE or SAM)  
  • Experience with eLearning development software (Storyline 360, Camtasia, etc.)  
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials and content for instructor-led courses, blended learning, and/or e-learning
