SnapOne is looking for an experienced Database Administrator with a proven track record of supporting, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the performance of critical relational and dimensional systems. We seek an individual willing to actively participate in data engineering tasks on a modern data platform (Azure Databricks).   
 
The DBA will be part of the IT Data Services team which is responsible for the design and administration of the company's enterprise data architecture, data warehouse, and data governance strategies.   
  
The Database Administrator/Engineer should be a proactive self-starter who has strong problem-solving analytical skills and a high attention to detail. The Data Services team is very collaborative and this individual should be outgoing and comfortable rolling up their sleeves to figure things out.  The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment that is goal-oriented and emphasizes accountability for delivering results.  This individual will need to demonstrate the ability to think outside the box in order to manage both technical and analytic challenges presented within the business and should possess exceptional quantitative problem-solving skills.
 
Specific Responsibilities 
  •  Manage deployment to production SQL Server and Azure Databricks product lifecycle deployments. (CI/CD)
  •  Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including system health and performance monitoring, to ensure a high level of performance, availability, and security 
  •  Assists other team members and business insiders with complex query tuning and schema refinement. 
  •  Perform occasional, scheduled after-hours tasks related to maintenance or release deployments. 
  •  Provide after-hours support for critical production systems. 
  •  Share domain and technical expertise by providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members. 
  •  Measure, report on and respond to system performance metrics through operational KPIs such as, but not limited to server uptime, SQL Agent Job run success/failure rates, query performance KPIs 
  •  Provide input to key technical resources at critical points in the corporate-level decision-making process about long-range technical objectives. 
  •  Uncover, pursue a course of action and resolve problems associated with the development and implementation to obtain desired results. 
  •  Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. 
  •  Contribute to the design and development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse 
  •  Collaborate with Data Engineers on data collection, data quality, and ETL projects feeding into the Enterprise Data Warehouse 
  •  Demonstrate initiative in learning, innovation, and development of new principles and theories in the day-to-day work of the team 
  •  Demonstrate the standards of accountability, customer focus, and quality expected of the team  
 
Required Qualifications 
  •  Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; or 6+ years of relevant experience 
  •  Experience with SQL Server. 
  •  Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Analysis Services, and Power BI.   
  •  Familiarity with Azure Databricks or Snowflake is a plus. 
  •  Experience with Python.     
 
Preferred Qualifications 
  •  Ingestion tools like HVR 
  •  Familiarity with monitoring tools like SQL Sentry
  •  Experience working in an agile environment.
