The Accounting Specialist will report to the Financial Team Lead and will ensure payments made to all vendors are accurate and timely. This role requires a detail-orientated individual with A/P and A/R experience who can prioritize and multitask both over the phone and email. Excellent customer service and a high sense of urgency when assisting customers and sales are key attributes that will contribute to the success of the Accounting Specialist.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing accounts payable for select vendors
  • Approving A/P invoices for payment to suppliers
  • Reconciling and posting goods received against purchase orders
  • Regularly communicating with the merchandise/procurement and warehouse teams regarding goods receipts
  • Reviewing A/P daily for priority payables
  • Escalating problem A/P invoices to management
  • Preparing weekly reporting to the Finance team lead
  • Cross training and supporting A/R

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • At least 2 years of experience working in A/P or General Accounting
  • Post secondary education in accounting
  • Experience working with ERP software
  • Knowledge with Quickbooks or equivalent software
  • Proficient or higher skills in Excel and MS Office
  • Excellent English skills, both verbal and written

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience with SAP B1 or equivalent ERP

 

This position is an onsite role.
