The Jr UX/UI Designer will report to the Manager, User Experience and be responsible for seeking to understand and design interaction experiences that simplify and delight customers. A successful candidate will define, create, and deliver software interfaces that integrators (our partners) use to setup, configure, program, and manage technologies installed in smart homes and businesses. This position will play a key role in the design, development and strategy of our products by working through the full product lifecycle while being a champion for users and consider yourself to be a design evangelist. Specific Responsibilities  

  • Collaborate with developers, product management, and integrators to understand and establish the requirements for current and future software application features and functions
  • Ability to design across devices, from desktop to mobile, and across systems
  • Proficient in the execution of design deliverables such as sitemaps, wireframes, high-fidelity design comps and prototypes
  • Continuously partner with UX Research to conduct usability testing, panel sessions and surveys to integrators
  • Present compelling design recommendations to partners, product teams, engineers, and product managers
  • Work with developers via user stories and design reviews to deliver solutions
  • Ability to work in an iterative fashion with project managers, developers and other UX team members

   

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, human-computer interaction, graphic design, or related field of study or 1+ years’ experience in a User Experience UI or UX related field
  • Experience in the delivery of multiple-month projects from discovery to design and through development
  • Experience with design, rapid prototyping and developer-hand-off tools such as Sketch & MarvelApp
  • Understands the basics of Sketch, component libraries, and how to appropriately use a Design System
  • Portfolio of application designs, mobile application designs, and web-based interfaces that scale from desktop to mobile
  • Proficient understanding of Material Design

   

   

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience with current user interface design trends and best practices
  • Familiarity with home automation technology and IOT devices
  • Experience with Agile methodologies or similar product delivery processes
