The Hardware Electrical Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering and be responsible for taking ownership and building defined features, investigate and fix complex and diverse issues, and communicate progress while identifying blocking issues. The Hardware Electrical Engineer activelyparticipates in product planning and implementation. An ideal candidate will have a passion for learning from teammates and developing good practices and behaviors

Specific Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design and development of analog/digital mixed signal circuit designs for home audio systems
  • Contribute to the design and development of wireless as well as wired solutions
  • Build products and ensure products pass all regulatory certifications for both US and international markets
  • Contribute to the design and development of robust, maintainable, elegant, and lasting solutions to meet a wide variety of requirements and feature sets while working closely with product management, mechanical, firmware, operations, and other engineering groups to deliver top-quality products to customers
  • Balance a variety of tasks related to: requirements gathering, design, review, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Assure a high standard of quality in your own work and in the work of others on your team via superior design principles, process improvements, safety, clean designs, smart testing, and review practices
  • Collaborate directly with JDM (Joint Development Manufacturer) global partners to communicate and resolve any technical issues during the specification and development cycles

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or relevant comparable career experience and demonstrates all general and lower-level expectationsor 2+ years experience contributing to the design and testing of electronic circuits
  • Knowledge of processor architectures, various communications protocols such as I2C, I2S, UART, SPI, etc. FPGA experience is a plus
  • Experience using CAD tools, circuit simulation tools, schematic capture, numerical computing environments and integrated development environments
  • Experience using laboratory test & measurement equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to the design and release of products that meet US and international compliance and safety regulations with a good understanding of conducted and radiated emissions and safety standards
  • Experience working with audio in some capacity ex. Installing audio systems, focus for school curriculum, hobby, etc...
  • Experience in any of these areas: audio amplifier design, audio DSP, use of DACs and ADCs for audio digital and analog conversions, networked audio, speaker design, or typical use of digital and analog filters.
  • Experience with multichannel audio, home cinema, or audio decoders/renderers
  • Experience using Audio Precision, RTA tools, or Matlab.
  • Working knowledge of Embedded Linux
